Experience JA BizTown Grant Awarded from the George W. Jenkins Fund within the Community Foundation of Greater Lakeland

Junior Achievement’s “Experience JA BizTown” introduces at-risk fifth graders from three Lakeland Title 1 schools to the world of economics and business. Students apply learned concepts from classroom curriculum followed by a hands-on experience at JA BizTown in Tampa. Students will run businesses, earn paychecks, open bank accounts and more. Community leaders will observe the students in action as they consider the benefits of establishing a JA BizTown facility in Polk County. Thanks to the generousity of the George W. Jenkins Fund within the Community Fondation of Greater Lakeland, at risk students in our community will be able to participate in a high quality learning experience that the JA curriculum teaches,  as they focus on their education and future career path at JA BizTown.
